01
GENERAL DENTISTRY
We enjoy providing dentistry for everyone from infants on up, including those with special health care needs. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends your child visit the dentist by his or her first birthday. Your first visits are intended for your child to get used to our office and to provide you with important information on caring for your child’s mouth. These visits will set them up to have a healthy mouth for life!
02
PREVENTATIVE CARE
In order to help you keep your smile in the best possible health we recommend that you visit us every six months for a routine dental cleaning and exam as well as once yearly x-rays. These visits can help prevent tooth decay, gum disease, and other dental problems. It is our goal to help you identify any problematic conditions early, before they can cause significant damage or pain. This helps to reduce the amount of time and money needed for dental treatment in the future.
03
EMERGENCY CARE
We pride ourselves in being there for our patients. We always try our best to get emergencies taken care of same day. Please call our office if you are having dental pain or a dental problem causing you concern.
04
IMPLANT SUPPORTED DENTURES
Complete dentures can sometimes feel loose due to lack of bony support or excess tissue in the mouth. Your denture can be made to “snap on” to multiple, strategically placed implants to help them feel more secure.
05
DENTURES & PARTIAL DENTURES
Whether you are missing some or all of your teeth, partial or complete dentures are an option for replacing them. At our office these removable appliances are carefully designed and fitted to your mouth over a series of appointments. We make sure you are happy with the fit and look of the dentures before you take them home.
06
IMMEDIATE DENTURES & PARTIAL DENTURES
If some or all of your teeth need removed and you do not want to be without them for any amount of time, an immediate denture or partial denture is an option for you. This denture is fabricated before the tooth or teeth are removed and it is ready to be worn immediately after tooth removal.
07
CROWN & BRIDGE
A crown completely covers a tooth beginning at the gum line and can be made of metal or a highly esthetic tooth-colored ceramic material. A crown restores a tooth to its natural appearance and is permanently cemented onto your natural tooth. A dental bridge is sometimes an option for replacing one or a few missing teeth. A bridge is made from permanently affixing a false tooth or teeth between crowns. Crowns and bridges can be made in just two appointments.
08
FILLINGS
To replace lost tooth structure due to decay, a filling may be placed. We place both amalgam (silver) and composite (tooth-colored) fillings at our office. The filling type we choose is based on our knowledge of which material will last longer for your given circumstance, but we also respect if you have a preference for one over the other.
09
EXTRACTIONS
You may face the need for a tooth or multiple teeth to be removed. Though no one enjoys having this done, we aim to make the experience as pain-free and easy as possible.
10
VENEERS
Veneers are thin coverings permanently cemented on the front surface of a tooth or teeth in order to fix any esthetic concerns you may have. They can help you achieve a more uniform, attractive smile. Dental veneers are typically a very conservative treatment requiring minimal preparation to the teeth. Veneers can help fill in spaces between teeth, correct slightly misaligned teeth, correct severely discolored teeth, and correct misshapen, broken or worn teeth.
11
WHITENING
We offer special at-home prescription strength whitening strips that contain ingredients to help prevent sensitivity, reduce decay, and also rebuild your enamel.
12
BRACES & CLEAR ALIGNERS
Orthodontics can help you achieve not only a straighter smile, but a healthier one, too. Braces and aligners utilize gentle pressure that moves your teeth gradually over a period of time and they are an option for most children and adults. Orthodontics can correct malocclusions as well as neuromuscular and skeletal abnormalities. By aligning teeth, you are better able to keep them clean, resulting in fewer cavities and less chance of developing periodontal problems.
13
PERIODONTAL THERAPY
If you have noticed that your gums are red and swollen, very painful or tender, or bleed easily, you may have periodontal disease, also known as gum disease. Simple at home brushing or flossing cannot remove the bacteria that cause gum disease but it can be treated in our office by your hygienist. Your personal gum treatment plan may include extra dental cleanings, antibiotic treatment, deep cleanings (called scaling and root planing), a strict at-home oral hygiene regimen, or gum surgery.
14
ROOT CANAL THERAPY
When a tooth dies or begins causing you pain, a root canal may be an option to help you save it. TV and movies have given root canals their bad rap but it is actually a very painless, quiet procedure. Once you are numb, the tooth is opened up and the nerve is cleaned out so it can no longer hurt you. You will be in and out of the chair in about an hour and on your way home with a pain-free tooth.
15
IMPLANT RESTORATIONS
After an oral surgeon or periodontist places an implant, you will need a tooth (or a “crown”) placed on it. Once the implant is secure in the bone, we can make you a crown for it in just two appointments.
16
NITROUS & SEDATION
“Laughing gas” is available to anyone upon request and is recommended for children who have trouble sitting still. For adults with strong anxiety associated with dental treatment we may prescribe an oral sedative for you to take the night before and morning of the procedure to help you relax. You will need someone to drive you to and from the appointment. Please just ask if this is something you are interested in.
